Made You Look finished 2nd beaten 3 3/4 lengths in a maiden special weight race for two-year-olds, going 5 furlongs on the turf at Belmont this afternoon VIDEO.
Breaking from post position 2 of 7, Made You Look and jockey Javier Castellano were a step slow out of the gate and forced to steady briefly as Helluva Choice (1) checked back. Around the far turn after a quarter mile in :21.76, Made You Look was down on the rail inside horses while chasing a fast pace some five lengths back.
Castellano guided Made You Look up the rail past a tiring Dangerous Dan (7) while eventual winner Red Lodge (3) took command late while under a hand-ride. Finishing well to the wire two lengths ahead of third place finisher California Swing (4), Made You Look put in an encouraging effort.
Red Lodge set a new track record of :55.73 and looks to be a serious contender across the pond at Ascot this summer. We were pleased with how well Made You Look ran as he looked professional throughout after an average break from the gate CHART.
