Looking Forward to Fall

September 30, 2011

September 22nd marked the first day of Fall, and we're ready to turn over a new leaf. With El Padrino steadily training and several LGS runnners preparing to leave the farm in Ocala, FL, and join Todd Pletcher's barn, we eagerly anticipate what lies ahead.

LGS Rising Star, El Padrino, has been doing quite well since his impressive second place finish at Saratoga. He's currently training at Belmont Park, and we're very excited to see him back in action. As mentioned in our previous article, we purchased his half-brother by More Than Ready, who has since shipped to Ocala, FL and looks terrific.

Sepaking of Ocala, we recieved welcoming reports from JJ Pletcher's Payton Training Center: 2-year-old colt Dixie Dice breezed an easy 1/2 mile in :52 over a slow track on Spetmeber 29th. He is on schedule to ship to Boynton Beach, FL on October 19th and join Todd Pletcher's string at the Palm Meadows Training Center. In addition, 3-year-old filly Holiday Flare is doing very well and scheduled to breeze sometime next week.

Speaking of Holiday Flare, her half-ister, Candrea, is entered in the Grade 1 Oak Leaf Stakes at Santa Anita Park on Sunday, October 2nd. For more race details, CLICK HERE. Needless to say, we will all be watching! Candrea is 2-for-2 lifetime and is coming off an impressive victory in the Phil D. Sheprad Stakes at Fairplex Park.
