Divine Oath is entered in the 1st race at Gulfstream Park on Saturday, February 22nd. It is a N1X allowance race for three-year-olds, going 7 1/2 furlongs on the turf. He has drawn post position 11 of 13 and will be ridden by Javier Castellano. The purse is $48,750, and approximate post time is 12:40.
An impressive debut winner going 7 1/2 furlongs on the turf at Gulfstream Park last month, Divine Oath attended the pace that day and looked gamely to the wire in what can be considered a key race, besting next out maiden special weight winners, Ring Weekend and Quotient.
Taking on an experienced field in Saturday's allowance race, Divine Oath will have to contend with a deep field of three-year-olds, including six colts with stakes experience. Breaking from post position 11 is less than ideal for the trip, but we're confident Castellano will be able to negotiate a good position early in the race.
Divine Oath has been training well since exiting his maiden win. With three solid half mile workouts at Palm Meados Training Center in Boynton Beach, FL this past month, he looks ready to take the next step.
