Wooderson sat the trip and scored a length win over favorite Point to Remember (8) in a maiden special race, going 1 1/8 miles on the main track at Saratoga yesterday afternoon VIDEO
Breaking from post position 6 of 8, Wooderson and John Velazquez were away in good fashion. As the field jockeyed for position going into the first turn, Velazquez gave Domain (5) the lead on the rail while establishing a perfect spot off his shoulder.
After an opening quarter in :24.75, Domain and Wooderson raced stride-for-stride down the backstretch while under no pressure and in great rhythm. Dictating terms favorably, the pair cruised through 3/4 of a mile in 1:14.31 through the far turn.
Passing the quarter pole, Wooderson looked game while Jose Lezcano went to work on Domain to his inside. Set down for a drive, Wooderson responded well and shook off Domain mid-stretch.
