Let's Go Stables and our partners at Ashford Stud are happy to announce that our star three-year-old colt Verrazano will not only be competing for the $1,000,000 purse this Sunday in the Haskell Invitational S. (G1) at Monmouth Park, he'll also be running for The Foundation to Save the Jersey Shore, Inc.
In the eight months following Superstorm Sandy, "Save the Jersey Shore" has done an exceptional job bringing in the needed resourses and aide in efforts to revitalize devestated communities affected by Sandy. The community-based volunteer organization is recognized as a 501(c)(3) charitable foundation that cuts through the red tape to solve problems with incredible focus and efficiency.
Having lived on the Jersey Shore for most of our lives, we have spent countless summers frequenting various beach towns up and down the coast, enjoying the many attractions the shore has to offer.With this in mind, we have an obligation to help our communities and give back any way we can.
Along with our partners at Ashford Stud, we've jointly pledged a small monetary contribution to the foundation and will donate 1.5% of any purse earnings that Verrazano receives in the Haskell Invitational S. (G1) at Monmuoth Park this Sunday.
We're hoping a gesture such as this will allow "Save the Jersey Shore" to assume a higher profile in the region's recovery as they strengthen their leadership role and continue to help those in need in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy.
