Ready to Tango earned her diploma with a gritty effort going 6 furlongs on the dirt under Edgard Zayas at Gulfstream Park yesterday afternoon VIDEO
Breaking from the inside post, Zayas rushed Ready to Tango from the gate as several horses pressed for the lead. Shessuchaknockout (7) was sent from the outside post and sped through an opening quarter mile in :22.58 while Zayas settled briefly on the rail about three lengths off.
As they swung around the far turn, Zayas saw an opening and guided Ready to Tango off the rail taking dead aim at the lead. Traveling well, she took the lead coming out of the turn and was set down for the drive. With a length advantage at the quarter pole, Zayas saw a late rally by Bella Tormenta (5) from their outside and nudged Ready to Tango out to engage that rival. She responded with a late surge to pull away and score by 1 1/4 lengths in a final time of 1:11.05 CHART
