Ready to Tango finished 2nd beaten four lengths in a maiden special weight race for three-year-old fillies, going 6 furlongs on the dirt yesterday afternoon at Gulfstream Park VIDEO
Breaking from the one-hole under Luis Saez, Ready to Tango was away in good order and urged early to be forwardly placed racing down the backstretch dueling with Lucky Little Lady (4) to her outside. Traveling well through an opening quarter mile in :22.72, Ready to Tango edged that rival and seemed to moving quite well as she raced around the far turn.
As they approached the 1/4 pole, eventual winner Royal Charlotte (7), makes her bid to the outside after stalking a length back in third. Saez asks Ready to Tango for run, and she kicks on as the pair hit the top of the stretch. Unable to match strides down the lane, Ready to Tango failed to repel Royal Charlotte's run but kept on to hold place from a closing Sinwaan (5).
