In his third start this season, Ready Dancer drew clear late to win a maiden special weight race for two-year olds, going 6 furlongs on the dirt on today's Travers Stakes undercard at Saratoga VIDEO.

With blinkers on, Ready Dancer and jockey John Velazquez broke alertly from post position 9 of 9 and chased the pace early form the outside approaching the far turn. Racing four-wide with pacesetter Condominium (1) to his inside, Ready Dancer kept to task as the two cleared the field by 5 lengths after 1/2 mile in :45.80.

As the pair straightened out of the turn, Velazquez set Ready Dancer down for a stretch drive, took the lead near the eight-pole and drew clear in the final sixteenth to score a 2 1/2 length victory. The final time was 1:10.02, and it was another 6 3/4 lengths back to a late-closing Sail Ahoy (7) in third CHART.
