Outshine powered home a decisive two-length winner in a N1X allowance race for three-year-olds, going 7 furlongs on the dirt at Gulfstream Park yesterday afternoon VIDEO

Breaking from post position 7 of 10 and sporting blinkers for his three-year-old debut, Outshine under John Velazquez, bumped W W Springtime (6) to their inside at the start. With Admiral Lynch (10) and The Right Path (8) clearing the field, Velazquez urged Outshine slightly maintaining positioning outside horses as the field raced down the backstretch through an opening quarter mile in :22.81.

Racing four wide only three lengths off the lead, Outshine looked to be focused and in good rhythm. With 3/8 of a mile to go, Velazquez pressed on Outshine, and he quickened nicely around the far turn gathering good momentum into the top of stretch.

Set down for a drive on the outside, Outshine gained on a worthy frontrunner in Admiral Lynch mid-stretch, who then drifted out and interfered with The Right Path between horses inside the final panel. Once clear, Outshine powered home nicely to score an impressive win over Admiral Lynch in a final time of 1:23.18. The Right Path was put up for place and Admiral Lynch was DQ'd to third after a steward's inquiry CHART
