Conquer the World launched an impressive sustained run from a dozen lengths back to graduate in style by a convincing 2 1/4 lengths, going 1 3/16 miles on the turf at Aqueduct yesterday afternoon VIDEO

Breaking from post position 9 of 10, Conquer the World was brushed at the start by Action Jackson (8) to his inside, forcing jockey Luis Saez to take up and regroup. Down the lane, Saez guided CTW to the rail some ten lengths back off pacesetter North Carolina (2) through an opening quarter mile in :24.27. Traveling around the clubhouse turn in last, Saez slightly urged CTW to engage the field, and CTW picked up the bridle and responded nicely.

Racing down the backstretch, CTW found his rhythm and looked to be racing well in stride once clear about four wide. As they approached the far turn after 3/4 of a mile in 1:12.06, Saez shook the reins and gave CTW a tap. In eye-catching fashion, CTW advanced around the field passing no less than five rivals, while North Carolina kicked on to open up by four lengths.

Coming out of the far turn, Saez and CTW had their target in sight; however, North Carolina was moving well and didn’t look one bit vulnerable. Set down for the drive, Saez went to work on CTW and our chestnut colt by Curlin answered the call. Traveling best of all, CTW covered ground like a true router winning impressively going away in a final time 1:55.20.
