Bahama Halo Wins MSW
Thursday, June 23, 2016 | RSS Feeds

Bahama Halo scored a convincing victory by nearly six lengths in a maiden special weight race for two-year-olds fillies, going 6 furlongs on the turf at Belmont yesterday afternoon VIDEO.

Breaking best of all from post position 5 with jockey Javier Castellano in the irons, Bahama Halo was deftly guided to the rail, allowing inside speed to dictate terms early. While giving chase to the leaders after running an opening 1/4 mile in :22.24, our beautiful daughter by More Than Ready travelled well through the far turn gaining on frontrunner Murrell's Belle (2) with each stride.

On even terms as they approached the top of the stretch, Bahama Halo was set down for the drive with a head in front. Opening up a 2 1/2 length advantage on the field, Bahama Halo was kept to task mid-stretch while altering the course slightly. She crossed the wire in a final time of 1:10.78 and 5 3/4 lengths in front of runner up, Noble Ready (3) CHART.
