b.c. MORE THAN READY – ENCHANTED ROCK by GIANT’S CAUSEWAY
By a three-time Leading Sire of Two-Year-Olds, and a three-parts-brother to a current graded stakes winner, this colt is also half-brother to Let’s Go’s rising star, El Padrino.
The sire, More Than Ready, was a brilliant two-year-old and grade one winning three-year-old. He has become a prolific sire of stakes winners, with his most notable offspring including Champions Sebring and Phelan Ready; 2011 Mother Goose Stakes (gr. I) heroine Buster’s Ready; Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf (gr. II) scorers Pluck and More Than Real; Ready’s Image; Ready’s Gal; Regally Ready; and Let’s Go’s own, Ready’s Echo, a classic and multiple grade one placed earner of over $500,000.
This colt is the second foal of his dam, Enchanted Rock. The first, Let’s Go’s two-year-old, El Padrino, made tremendously promising debut at Saratoga, and is now pointing towards graded stakes competition. He’s also closely related to another notable 2011 Saratoga performer in Hungry Island, who is by More Than Ready out of a half-sister to Enchanted Rock. Hungry Island has won her last four races, including the Recording Stakes, and the Lake Placid Stakes (gr. II).
Enchanted Rock is also half-sister to the True North Handicap (gr. II) victor, Waldoboro, and to Ladies Handicap (gr. II) captress, Tara Roma (herself dam of grade one winner Serra Lake, and graded winner Cappuchino, and granddam of graded stakes winning and grade one placed Coal Play). In addition, her other half-sisters include Flying Passage (dam not only of Hungry Island, but also of 2011 graded stakes winner Soaring Empire); Chic Corine (dam of stakes winner Rasa Farina, and granddam of Baraan, a 2011 graded stakes winner who was a close third in the French Derby (gr. I)); and Mayan Maiden (the granddam of 2010 graded stakes winner, Al Khali).
The granddam, Chic Shirine, a daughter of Mr. Prospector, captured the Ashland Stakes (gr. I), and is a sister to the Champion Older Mare Queena, herself dam of grade one winner Brahms, and graded winner La Reina. The third dam, Too Chic, won the Maskette Stakes (gr. I), and is a granddaughter of the English Oaks victress, Monade.
This colt is bred on the More Than Ready/Storm Cat cross, a formula that has already provided grade stakes winner Caminadora, and stakes winners More Than Pretty and Bavarian Belle, and like El Padrino, is inbred to Mr. Prospector.
In addition to his outstanding pedigree and physique, this colt also tested extremely well on Performance Genetics’ Cardio and Genomics test, owning a profile that is frequently associated with elite runners.
