A September Sale session-topper, this colt has a pedigree with classic potential. He is a son of second crop sire sensation, Candy Ride. An undefeated Champion, Candy Ride earned an astonishing 123 Beyer Speedfigure while defeating Medaglia d'Oro and Milwaukee Brew by more than three lengths in the Pacific Classic. With his first crop only three-year-olds of 2009, Candy Ride has already sired eight stakes winners, including Capt. Candyman Can, a grade one winner at Saratoga this year, and graded stakes winners Chocolate Candy, Evita Argentina, and Misremembered.
 
This colt is half-brother to the brilliant This Ones For Phil. Winner of the Swale Stakes (G2), Sunshine Millions Dash and Seacliff Stakes, This Ones For Phil has run the faster Beyer Speedfigure by any male in 2009, recording a remarkable 115. This colt is also half-brother to two-year-old stakes winner Tap Dancer and six other winners.
 
The dam, Heaven's Gate, by Seattle Slew's multiple grade one winning son, Septieme Ciel, is half-sister to grade two winners Finality and Stolen Beauty (dam of stakes winner Moonlightandbeauty; granddam of graded stakes winner Giant Mover). The granddam, Finally Found, is half-sister to three-time Champion Eternal Search, graded stakes winner Raslaan, stakes winner Gone to Royalty, and to Savethelastdance (dam of classic winner Niigon; granddam of grade one wnner Island Sand).
 
This is the same Candy Ride/Seattle Slew cross that had produced Chocolate Candy, a graded stakes winner of almost $600,000 to date, and the Candy Ride/Seattle Slew combination gives multiple linebreeding to the great foundation family of Alanesian, including through Seattle Slew's grandsire, Boldnesian.
