Dk.b./br.c. by READY’S IMAGE – QUEEN OF VALENTINE by STORM CREEK
The first crop of two-year-old sensation Ready’s Image have already been making a considerable impact at the yearling and two-year-old in training sales. This colt, who worked a furlong in :10.0, was the top-priced yearling by his sire in 2011, and was a horse noted by many as one of the potential stars of the sale.
He is out of Queen of Valentine, a Storm Cat granddaughter who is three-part-sister to Feline Story. A graded stakes winner at two and three, Feline Story captured the Floral Park Handicap (gr. III), Sorority Stakes (gr. III) and Legal Light Stakes, and earned places in six other stakes events, including when second in the Prioress Stakes (gr. I).
The granddam, Shappy, is a winning sister to stakes placed Salty Secret. She is also a half-sister to stakes winner Patooie (dam of graded stakes performer Copelan Too), to stakes placed My Neccesity, and to the dam of Eishin Cameron, one of the best juveniles of her year in Japan. The third dam, Salt In My Stew is half-sister to Morning Snack, the dam of stakes Two Punch Lil, and the granddam of 2011 multiple stakes winner and classic contender Flashpoint. Salt In My Stew’s dam is out of a sister to undefeated Champion Two-Year-Old Raise a Native, the sire of Mr. Prospector and Alydar.
Bred on the same More Than Ready/Storm Cat cross which produced graded stakes winner Caminadora, and stakes winners Bavarian Belle and More Than Pretty. The pedigree is also intriguing for combining three crosses of Raise a Native with a full-sister to that brilliant racehorse and highly-influential stallion.
